BRING SCIENCE TO LIFE! A SCHMAHL SCIENCE WORKSHOP PRESENTS "SCIENCE EXPLORATIONS"

An After school hands-on science club for 2nd – 6th  grade Holy Family School students. Do your kids like to take things apart or put things together? Do they like to ask questions, investigate and try to find answers? Come join SSW as we embark on a series of hands-on science exploration workshops. Learn about Science and Engineering in a setting where kids are free to explore and investigate what interests them. We offer science workshops that have been kid-tested, parent and teacher approved.

Dancekids

These “serious fun” dance, fitness, and cheerleading classes are held after school, which creates a convenient and safe environment for the students.  The children enrolled in the dance and fitness classes will derive great benefits from the exercise as they thoroughly enjoy their workout. This hour-long class, which is held weekly, is designed for grades Kindergarten through sixth. Dancekids has been offering programs in the Bay Area for over nineteen years. For more information or to sign up for a dance session, please click here.

FIRST LEGO League

The FIRST LEGO League (FLL), considered the "little league" of the FIRST Robotics Competition, is the result of a partnership between FIRST and the LEGO Group. FLL extends the FIRST concept of inspiring and celebrating science and technology to children aged 9 through 14, using real-world context and hands-on experimentation. For more information please contact Laura Lebherz at Laura.Lebherz@hfsj.org.

Academic Chess

As parents we want our children to grow more capable in their ability to make good decisions. Learning to play the game of chess teaches our children; how to use their resources, how to place their minds ahead of their actions, and how to make good, and/or better, decisions. Playing chess teaches us to slow down and take notice of the relationship between cause and effect.

We, at Academic Chess, have been making playing chess fun, entertaining and instructive to children in grades K-8 throughout the state of California, for the past 11 years. Please visit our website at www.academicchess.com or check back in March for sign-ups for Holy Family School registration information.

Homework Club

Homework Club began as a way to provide an environment where students who are reluctant to do homework can work with a "teenage" mentor.  Most students are recommended by teachers after conferencing with parents.  homework Club is open to 4th,5th, and 6th grade students.  We meet on Tuesday and Thursday's from 3:00-4:00 pm.  A teacher is also available to answer questions.
